Leaving

Yesterday we went and put in our notice to housing that we are leaving. It sort of hit me on the way there, we actually have a date and we actually are leaving. It's pretty bittersweet, but we are leaving our very first home. Our home that we brought Cayden home from the hospital to. The home that we put a lot of time and effort and money into making it feel like a real home, not just somewhere that we were staying. The home that I have cleaned so many times, the floor that I have played with Cayden on for countless hours, the dining room where we have ate hundreds of meals, the backyard where I first watched Mollie play, and now I watch Cayden play in. Cayden's first bedroom, where we set up his crib with much anticipation and hung his tiny clothes in his closet. I gotta tell you, there might be some tears as I see Fort Irwin in my rear-view mirror for the very last time.

I'm going to miss this view out my front door!

Watch care

My baby is growing! Today I put him in MOPS watch care.. I am always such a nervous momma when he is in there, I probably peek in there 3 times if not more. I need to learn to trust that he is ok! Once he gets over the initial saddness of me being gone, he always ends up having a good time. He was tired (getting up extra early today, hence me being so tired) and I thought it would be a rough start for him, but he proved me wrong :) I couldn't even get him to leave!! It makes me glad because I get to sit for an hour and a half and enjoy some Mommy time! The girls that watch the kids now know him by name, and are very sweet and do an awesome job with allllll those kids.

It's the little things in life that count.
Off to meet Chelsea for our walk!!

Tiiiired

I am so tired I can barely function today!!!

None the less, we are off to MOPS. Hopefully both Cayden and I can stay awake long enough to come home and eat lunch and take a much needed nap. I don't know how I can get Cayden to sleep any later! The second Kele's alarm goes off in the morning, Chopper starts meowing and then Cayden is awake.... ah!!! Maybe I need to start going to bed earlier. LOL

Words

Chels and I (and Cayden and Constance!) started baby boot camp yesterday.. Lets just say I can barely walk down the stairs this morning! I kept complaining that I was sore last night, but now I am really feeling the burn. It felt really good to get out there tho. It was freeeeezing, like heavy coat weather. Once we got moving we were okay, but it took me a while to warm Cayden and I both up once we got home. I would love to go to the class everyday, but it is so stinkin expensive- more than a gym membership! And it is nothing that we can't do on our own. We are still going to go to the class once or twice a week, but are taking what we learn and will do it on our own. We already have plans to do our own walk today. Here is the exercise motivation, I hope it lasts. Now I just have to get past my eating habits.. ha!

So Kele passed the board with a 139/150 which he was pretty bummed about. He felt like he did really good and that he should have gotten a better score. I told him to go talk to the 1st Sgt's that were there about it. He laughed! The promotion points took a huge jump last month, and he is so close it's not even funny. He is doing corespondance classes like a mo fo to try and catch up. We will cross our fingers!

Cayden's new words as of late are:
Nose
Shoes
Elmo
Ball
Ousi ("outside")
Bubbles
Car

Maybe I am weird, but it just blows me away that I can say a word and he repeats me. He also can sing, he knows the "ow ow ow ow ow ow" part from Beyonce's Single Ladies, and will copy me when I sing "la la la la". It's really funny, when he feels like singing or dancing, he will come over to the computer and sing the Beyonce song and start dancing, that's my cue to turn it on. What a hoot :)

Cloudy day

We had plans this weekend to go to San Diego, but right before I was about to book the room I figured I'd better check the weather. Gooooood thing! It is very rainy this weekend and would not have made very good Sea World or zoo weather. We ended up just going to Ontario area for the day instead.. I love civilization!!!!!!!! It was a scary slow drive there because of all the fog, but it just sprinkled the time we were there. After my attempt to grow Cayden's hair out longer, I gave up. I figured the Zac Effron look might have to wait for another time, I had to comb it everytime we left the house or else he looked like a homeless child.

P.S. Kele now offically has his orders in hand!!!! We will be going to housing and transportation this week to set up all our dates. Yikes!

Mommy's Boy!

Katie's (my sister) status on myspace said that I need to ship Cayden to her for her Valentine's present... Which brought up a good subject!!

Cayden is having somewhat of a hard time being away from me- Let's just say I can barely go to the bathroom in peace. Kele has tried putting him to bed so many times this week and he just cries for me! Makes him feel awful of corse, I just have to keep reminding him it's only a stage. But in the meantime, I am going to soak up every minute of it! I secretly love that he wants me every second, because someday he might not like me as much anymore.. but probably not, right Mom? (And Drew, haha!)

So Katie, I will not be sending Cayden to you this Valentine's Day, because he might just miss his Mommy too much. Have I ever mentioned how much I love being a mom?

Poo Poo?

Enjoying the nice weather before the rain comes this weekend!

Cheesin with Daddy!

Look at all those teeth!!

For those wondering minds, Kele thinks he did really good at the board!! We will know points and whatnot later this evening...
---------------------------------------------------------------

Cayden is so funny.. he now feels the need to let everyone know when he toots. He grabs his butt with both hands and says (more like asks), "poo poo?", then I check and have to tell him he just tooted. He does this everytime he cuts the cheese, and this is quite frequently might I add. Halarious!!
When I went to put his down for his nap this morning, I started to rub his ear (his favorite), and I noticed there was a bunch of cereal in there... Ahh! Now I keep catching him trying to put pretty much everything in his ear! Isnt there a rule about this??

The Movie

Sex and the City has to be the best chick flick movie EVER!!!!! Perfect movie for a night when the hubby is working late :)

P.S. FOR DREW

Cayden can now point you out in pictures...
You are "onu dwu".

=o)

"I'm Bored"

If you have talked to me in the last three weeks, you have most likely heard me complain that "I am bored." It's so hard not to! You can only go to the PX and commissary so many times, and only spend so much money on Starbucks...

My Dad asked me before he left this morning, "so what are you guys going to do today?", to which I responded "Oh, probably nothing at all. Be bored."
He spirted out a little bit of his oh so wise wisdom and said "Just be thankful that you get to stay home with Cayden."

And you know what? He is so right!!! I could be dropping him off while he cries at a babysitter every morning and dragging myself half to sleep to work. But I don't have to! I get to play all day long. Who cares if I get bored sitting at home? At least I have an excuse to go to the park.

Mind you, I will still probably complain at least once this week that "I am bored", it's almost inevitable.... But I will be working on it.

Besides, I only have FIVE weekends left here. And then I will be in civilization. I can already hear Target calling my name.

So what's on my adgenda today???

Take a nap, bake some cookies, soak up the sun while we play in the backyard. Maybe I'll roll up my pants and work on my tan.

Happy Monday!
