Keys

I could not find my keys anywhere.... And it's usually right as I am trying to rush out the door. Now you know why I am usually, always, more than likely late. You more than likely have received a text from me that reads: "I can't find my jews." And not because I can't find my jews. But because I can't find my keys. And when I am in a frantic hurry, I don't look at what I'm texting and my phone would rather spell jews than keys.

There they are!

Friday

Friday is here, at last... It was one crazy week, to say the least. I am looking forward to going home to the ol' rents for the weekend for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner at Weenie's.. Since they all decided to go to Puerto Vallarta for the Holidays coughcoughwithoutmecoughcough. Thanks to one of my favorite bloggers, Mama M for the questions!
My Little Life

1. What is your favorite "eat" on Thanksgiving?

That is such a hard question.. just one thing? My Grandpa makes a turkey to kill for (no pun intended), and my Grandma makes baked beans that are da bomb. And pie.. Who can forget the pie? A little slice of each, please.

2. What is the name your best girl friend and the best trait about her or how you met (or heck, both!!)
I am going to talk about my best friend Chelsea because she is on my mind today (well, everyday). But extra today. I met her, well on Myspace. She found me because she was getting ready to move out to the God-awful hot desert and wanted to make some friends first. We chatted every day before she finally moved out there in January. I want to say the first time we met in person was at Baby Boot Camp (am I wrong, Chels?). We hit it off immediately and hung out every single day! She has an adorable, and I mean ADORABLE 16 month old daughter. She moved back to Illinois shortly after and we have still continued to stay in touch, whether it be a phone call, text or IM. There has not been a single day that has gone by! I went out for a week long visit in September and she will be coming here to visit in March. I think this will be a yearly tradition! She is an AMAZING single mother who works very hard for what she has, an incredible photographer who takes all of Cayden's pictures and a great best friend. Thanks for making me a little sappy :)

3. What would you say is one of your "weirdest" quirks?
This is a hard one, since I am so perfect I couldn't think of any....
Riiiiight, but one that comes to mind first is.. Where my child takes a bath. When we were searching for a rental, it was a MUST that Cayden had to have a separate bathtub. I can't stand the thought of him taking a bath in someone else's dirt. When guests come and shower in his bathroom, I have to scrub it before he gets back in (sorry I admitted this, guests. Nothing against you... Just your dirt).

4. What is your favorite genre of music? (Hip hop? Classical? Rock? etc.)
I wanted to say "all of them!" but that would be lying. I do like most of them. Just no classical. Or classic rock. Or hard rock. Or anything that my Dad used to torture us in the car with.

5. Are you a Night Owl...or an Early Bird?
I so wish I was a night owl. But I have a hard time these days staying up past 10. What a granny, I know. But I also don't feel like I'm an Early bird. Can I pick neither?

Today

Things always have a way of working themselves out. Some how, some time, some sort, in some way that I may or may not comprehend, it will come together.

I will be ok. Besides, I have the cutest baby in thee world who told me "Love you ever" before he went to bed last night. That boy breaks my heart.

What Happens...

When you let your child entertain himself with your makeup bag....
At least he got most of it actually ON his lashes. What can I say? He learned from the best.

[Yes, I know my child had spaghetti for lunch. Yes, I wiped his mouth off halfway thru the pictures. Just keeping it real.}

Things aren't always what they seem

Today I feel like I am running on autopilot.

To the outside eye, I appear fine. I get up and play my role.

But today, the truth it that I would just rather be cuddled up in bed.
Not facing reality.

But since that isn't really an option, since my busy two year old most likely doesn't want to lay in bed with me all day, I will pick my emotions and self up and carry on. And just keep praying.

Friiiiday

Whew! I almost missed out.

My Little Life
1. What is your dream job?

Hard question! I used to dental assist and I have ALWAYS wished that I had the time to go back to school full time to be a hygienist. But, Monday-Friday 8-5 PLUS a night class just does not sounds like it would fit in my schedule right now!
I am so grateful that I get to stay home with my little guy for the time being!

2. What song could you play over and over?

I have SO many of them!! A few Dixie Chick, Damien Rice, Lady Antebellum, Rihanna, on and on.... But seriously, if I had to pick one song to listen to for the rest of my life? Sarah McLachlan, anything. You pick it. Oh wait... that is not the question.

3. Do you prefer to talk on the phone or text (or email)?

Big huge texter. I don't mind talking to people (Mom, Katie, Grandma, etc) that I talk to on a regular basis, but I would MUCH rather text. Or IM. Thank the heavens for technology.

4. What is your must have beauty product?

I feel (and look) dead without eyeliner on.

5. What is your favorite Michael Jackson song?

"But you are not alone.... For I am here with you..Though we're far apart, You're always in my heartttttt.."

Meatballs

I saw this recipe on Big Mama's blog a while back and mentally saved it in my head to try another time. Meatball subs are a big favorite around here and I usually just buy a bag of frozen balls of meat. I decided to be really domestic and try the recipe... They were great. Next time I am going to double up and freeze enough for another meal. My only discretion is shaping the balls. Something about getting a little messy with some red meat. If I can do it, so can you.

1 pound ground beef
2 large beaten eggs
1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Dash of salt
Dash of pepper
Dash of garlic powder
Dash of onion powder
1 jar of spaghetti sauce
1 package of hoagie rolls or something similar
Mozzarella cheese, silced
butter

Mix together the first 7 ingredients. Roll meatballs about 3 inches wide and put onto cookie sheet to bake. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees, turning over half way through.
Put the sauce into a pot on the stove, add meatballs and let simmer. I am usually cramped for time and just heat till warm, but I think simmering it longer would make it taste better, for some strange reason.

Open up your hoagie rolls and spread a small (or a lot) of butter on one side. Broil them until they are slightly brown (a couple of minutes) and then put your sliced mozzarella cheese on. Broil again until the cheese is melted.

When rolls are to your liking, put the meatballs on and enjoy.

Who doesn't like meatball subs, like, seriously?

Not Me!

Another weekend has came and gone, it's time toughen up and admit what we have not been doing! For some strange reason, most of the blame is going to be on other people. Because it's my blog. And well, it's just easier to do that.

My husband is not working a 16+ hour day. I did not take this opportunity to not make dinner and go out with a girlfriend instead. I did not tell my husband to stop and get something to eat on his way home, I always cook his dinner. My house does not look like it has been lived in. My child is not watching Little Einsteins so I can post a blog and it is not going to keep him entertained until it is bath time. My husband did go snowboarding yesterday and he may or may not have hurt his shoulder on the very first fun. I did not tell my dear husband that he does not have my sympathy. I have not ignored him as he has struggled to get dressed/pick up baby/open doors/brush his teeth. I definitely feel bad for him.
It was not my child whose potty training request I was forced to ignore while we were at Starbucks because someone was in the bathroom. For a very long time. I did not have to eventually tell him to just go in his diaper. I did not ignore the fact that the men's bathroom was open. Public bathrooms do not gross me out. Especially ones of the opposite sex.
I did not not notice that the belt on my vacuum was broken. I do not not know how long it has been broken. I do not admit I probably would have never noticed if it weren't for my Mom. I then did not continue to not know how to change it. I did not call my Mom from Sears and have her look up what kind of belt I needed. My Mom did not change the belt for me. I am domestic. Duh.
