I have been slacking, and really I don't even have an excuse why. I cannot believe that August is already gone. August is and has always been my favorite month of the year! Before we know it, it'll be Christmas. I have not even thought about Christmas shoppping, just trying to get C's birthday done first! Eek!
We have been taking advantage of the last big of summer going on lots of walks and to the park. We have filled up our calendar for the winter, we have something to do almost every day of the week (i.e. story time, playgroup, MOPs, women's bible study). C is almost at the age where he can entertain himself, but not quite yet. I don't want to feel trapped inside all winter when it gets cold, so I know if I have something to do, I will go! Thank God we have a 4x4 truck.
That is one thing I have learned since moving back, I LOVE being on the go. It is rare that we aren't gone running around somewhere in the mornings before nap time. Afternoons are filled with workouts, cleaning and well...blog stocking. It is nice to be on a routine. Have I ever given you my schedule lecture, Mommys?
Things have been going good here, C is at such a good stage right now. I love when you pass that 18 month mark and they finally start to learn what no means, and understand you more. I wouldn't trade that little guy in for the world.
Kele's bike got hit at the motorpool the other day. It was parked and the guy who hit him backed right into it. The guy tried to drive away, but lucky for us some of K's buddies were standing right there and chased him down. They called the MPs and exchanged information. Kele went to call the guy's insurance when he got home, but USAA had no record of him. Great! He confronted the guy at work the next day, and he said he would call his insurance and see what's up. He called later that evening and confirmed, his insurance had dropped him off "for some reason" but would make sure he would pay to fix the bike. Kele feels bad because the guy is low ranking- which means he is poor (who isn't in the Army?) but is going to get a few quotes to see how much the damage will cost.
