I hate when I get into bed at night and feel like I didn't do enough for Cayden during the day.. I didn't cuddle him enough, or play with him enough, or laugh with him enough, or rock him long enough.. so I have been majorly working on that the last week or so. I know that I spend all day every day with him, but that's different than really "spending" time with him. I want to wrestle and roll around on the floor with him all day, I want to spend more days adventuring at the park together, I want to make him laugh and teach him new words, and walk around the grocery store and tell him all about yummy snacks and fruit, and just be silly all day! There's no better feeling than knowing that he is going to bed a happy and content little boy, and then waking up calling out for his Mama and Daddy, because he knows that we are there waiting for him. I want him to be able to look back on his childhood and just remember happy times that we spent playing together and growing together and learning together. You think you know it all, and then you have children and they teach you a whole new meaning to life. He really gives me a reason to be happy and content with my life, and to draw out the good stuff and shut out the negative. We laugh at everything all day, and chase around the kitty, and play hide-n-seek. He even helps me clean- -today he followed me around with the Pledge and handed it to me each time I needed it, and then he "helped" me push around the vacuum. And I so look forward to bed time and nap time, not because there's peace and quiet, but because I get to sit there for the greatest 15 minutes of the day and hold him in my arms and just stare at him. He is such a big bundle of joy who is so great at reminding me what it's all about. He adores his daddy too, but we'll save that for another post.
Man, am I lucky or what???
